Green Blood Campaign

Dear Friends,Green Blood Campaign

The recent events in Iran have been weighing heavy on our collective minds over the past weeks. The traumatic aftermath of the stolen election of June 12th, 2009 has taken us on an emotional roller coaster that many of us have either never experienced in our lifetime, or is a reminder of the dark days in the Iranian history that we hoped would never happen again.  Throughout these events, the world community and the Iranian Diaspora have stood firmly in solidarity with the people of Iran .

We’ve all seen and been part of a host of gatherings and protests over the past weeks and will not stop until our voice is heard. So, to this end, we’d like to invite you to a join us in a symbolic move to commemorate the lives lost, and blood spilt on the streets of Iran .

We have registered a campaign with the Canadian Blood Services to donate blood in solidarity with the people of Iran and invite you to show you support by donating blood at one of their centers. This will not only be a symbolic show of support for a cause that people have sacrificed their live for, it would also be a way of giving back to our non-Iranian community who has so graciously put up with all the inconvenience (noise, traffic, etc) we may have caused over the last weeks.

CBS periodically provides reports on donations which can be publicized in Canadian media.
